About Michelle
I qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1982, graduating from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Sciences degree, majoring in Physiotherapy. Thereafter a year-long Post Graduate Orthopedic Manipulative Therapy course was completed. I have not stopped studying since I qualified, and have travelled internationally to improve my skills, including studying Chinese Acupuncture in China (and South Africa) and Milan, Italy. I have studied with Dr Michael Mixon-Livi (NST) in Milan, Italy and have attended a coaching course in the USA with Michael Neil (Innate Health).
I have attended numerous short courses, including: Mulligan, McKenzie, Tom Myers, Upledger, Maitland, Feldenkreis, Peter Wells, David Butler, Dr Baldry,Travell and Kinesiotapy Therapy.
I follow a three pronged approach in my practice and I focus on how my patients move, nourish themselves and create helpful thinking patterns. My goals are to initially assist my patients with musculoskeletal problems to become symptom free in the short term and continue helping them to be the best they can be, physically and emotionally, in the long term.

“I was referred to Michelle, shortly after relocating to Cape Town. I needed post surgery Physio after a bad break to my right ankle a few months earlier. When I first saw Michelle, my ankle was swollen and I was struggling to walk and find balance. In addition I was dealing with daily discomfort caused by inflammation and pain in several of my joints. I was feeling depressed, concerned and struggling with feelings of loss of vitality. What I value most is Michelle’s depth of knowledge, breadth of experience, professionalism, compassion and holistic approach to healing. This includes a range of Physio approaches as well as referring me to other professionals in support of my overall well being. She treats me as a whole person and understands the impact my injury has had on my way of living as well as my mobility. After 8 treatments with Michelle, I have full range mobility and my ankle no longer prevents me from any activity I feel like doing. She is helping me understand important aspects of woman’s health and in particular the role hormones play in healing and joint inflammation. I recommend Michelle wholeheartedly.”

“I have been a patient of Michelle’s for 10 years now and she has been consistently efficient, professional helpful and goes the extra mile for her patients. Her healing hands have healed many injuries of mine from tennis elbow, neck spasms, frozen shoulder, planter fasciitis and back spasm just to mention a few. She approaches her therapy with a healing hands and a functional medicine approach and is always attending workshops to learn new techniques and approaches to the body and alignment. She doesn’t waste time with unproductive sessions and if something she has tried doesn’t work she always changes her approach and gets to the bottom of my injuries. Very grateful for all her kindness empathy and healing hands - thank you Michelle !!”
